The Dog Who Invented Velcro

An investigative report on velcro ancestry, camper van adventures, and canine content theft.

Breaking Burr News:

Today’s video features the ancient ritual of vacuuming Socks the dog, who recently transformed into a living Velcro strip thanks to our burr-covered lawn. I’ve been informed by Nancy (who knows these things) that burrs were actually the original inspiration for Velcro.

After extensive research (and some canine genealogy), I’ve uncovered that Socks’ great-great-great grandfather was, in fact, a pioneering tester in the early velcro prototype factories. Records suggest he was bravely wrapped in various experimental fasteners in 1912. I'm still digging for photographic evidence of this noble service.

Socks will be spending the summer gallivanting with his other favorite family (traitor), traveling to streams and forests in a cozy camper van. I will be stealing every single photo my partner sends me and pretending I took them myself.

Meanwhile, I’ll be locked in a bitter struggle with my parents over custody of dog content. My dad is known to shamelessly re-share my photos as if they were his own — so stay alert, he’s crafty like that.

It’s shaping up to be a summer of international dogs, historical conspiracies, and competitive photo thievery. Stay tuned

Socks is waiting for the Vacuuming to begin.
