Soaked
an early Sunday morning balade
Come on a little walk with Socks and me.
It was very early this morning after dropping off a certain child for his trip to Italy this week, and Socks and I went for a very wet, very glimmery walk together. Look at how every drop of water is just sparkling, and how despite getting absolutely soaked and now smelling vaguely like camembert, Socks is perfectly delighted.
Neither of us needed a shower or bath today. We just got morning-dew shampooed and had a glorious time.
And I wanted to share this beautiful spring Sunday morning with you all. So here’s a photo drop of a bunch of the best pictures of the day. Hope you enjoy it and that it gives you a little bit of wet sunlight in your heart.
Also, please, my sister Sandolore is in the running for a very important contest where she was selected among the five finalists. So please go read her story and vote for your favorite. Or just vote for her because Socks loves her. Nepotism. The nice kind.
There’s also a cash prize involved, which could potentially go toward buying her some proper cozy Wellingtons for walks like this. Literature should, at minimum, provide waterproof footwear.
Sandolore Sykes’s piece is here:
but you have to vote here:
And here are your glistening photos.

I voted! She's a strong writer. I loved the piece.
The pictures are just stunning, especially where you can see all the dew clinging to the tall grasses. Socks is definitely a very lucky dog to have such wonderful places to explore.
I will definitely check out Sandalore’s story. She is a fabulous writer!
